30th

No photos today. My camera had no charge left after the Art Fair.
Yesterday, Annu and I went to an exhibition opening at the Visual Arts Gallery. The exhibition is all about art from Kerala and is full of brightly coloured paintings (supposedly a trademark of the state) which I didn't really enjoy very much. One piece that I did enjoy is a video work by Gigi Scaria. It seemed to me to be a little deeper than the rest of the works.
After that we went to Alka's for another slap up meal. We showed Mandy what UK Garage is and listened to some Tech House. Unfortunately Annu wasn't really up to the food, but this was good for the rest of us because it really was special. Then when we were back at Hare Krishna the heavens opened and there was lightening and thunder to drown out the sounds of Germans entertaining themselves outside our room. They seemed to be having a pretty good go at competing with it though.
Luckily The Return of the King was TV!

Today Annu and I went to Eatopia for lunch as our experience yesterday in the staff canteen was under par. I soon realised why I hadn't been back there by myself after my first visit. You order your food and then wait for your number to be called, and every time a number is called it is accompanied by a tinny tune played through savage speakers. And the food is overpriced and of a questionable nature - Annu's chicken burger very closely resembled turkey in colour. Wonder how she'll feel tomorrow.

20th - photos and words

Today has been lovely.
I got up late and listened to a few chapters of Three Men in a Boat. I ate breakfast in bed and got some more Traveller's Cheques changed, at a relatively good rate, taken from and delivered to my door. I showered in relative warmth and watched some of the Republic Day celebrations on TV. It just looked like a show of India's military strength to me, and the woman that was commentating was really quite rude.
I left to get the metro at half ten and it was the quietest its been since I got here. Not many stops were open on my line but mine was (so lucky, I hadn't checked at all and might have had to have walked a very long way). I was bang on time to meet Alka at the IHC. We jumped in her car and went off to her house in South Ex. II. When we got there her 'boy' took me out to see a house, but the owner wasn't around, so I just ended up being in the sun for a while, which was nice. We went back to Alka's and worked on her curatorial text for the exhibition and got it done quite quickly. Then Alka's Latvian friend came over and we all ate a gorgeous North Indian meal. I was so stuffed. They then dropped me off on their way back in to town.
And I've just finished my work and have four days off to look at houses and settle Annu into the hectic metropolis that is New Delhi.

Like waiting for a bus

A second photo post in two days. This one fills in the gap between my third day and today. Like yesterday, it is a selection of highlights in chronological order.

Photo Highlights Thus Far

So its my eighth day and all I have uploaded in the way of photos are blurry pictures from the tablet. This post, therefore, is a collection of images, in chronological order, from the first three days of this trip.
